Medium Coverage n Full Coverage

I sent the samples of my Minerals Makeup to Indonesia and the thing that they want more is coverage. So I now have now Light, Medium and Full Coverage Foundations. My personal preference is medium coverage, it's good enough coverage and my complexion looks like I didn't put any make-up on but oh my....my skin looks fresh. I love it. When I go to party at night, that's the time when I put my full coverage foundation. You can't even see my red spots (post-acne...ughh) anymore.

The benefits of mineral cosmetics

Again..taken from my website:

Natural look and feel!

Many of our customers tell us how thrilled they are to leave their goopy, heavy liquid foundations behind. Mineral foundation looks and feels much more natural, without sacrificing any of the coverage! It smoothes and evens out skin tone, giving the look of naturally flawless skin, rather than the look of a thick mask of makeup.

Stays on all day long!

Lightweight and very small, mineral pigment particles seem to bind to clean, moisturized skin. This stuff doesn’t slide off, wear off or sweat off! Some of our customers even swear that you can swim in it!

Good for sensitive skin!

Sensitive girls, rejoice! Mineral cosmetics are great for sensitive skin! Traditional liquid foundations contain a plethora of complex and un-natural ingredients that can produce a state of imbalance or irritation in many skin types. Mineral cosmetics are the simplest, most natural and no-reactive form of cosmetics in existence. Rejoice in being able to read and understand exactly what you're using on your face!

Anti-inflammatory!

Two of our ingredients, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, are anti-inflammatory and actually help calm the skin. Zinc oxide also has antimicrobial properties. In fact, plastic surgeons and dermatologists routinely recommend mineral makeup to patients who have had laser treatments, micro-dermabrasion, peels or plastic surgery.

Oil- and fragrance-free!

None of our loose powder mineral cosmetics contain any oils or fragrances.

Non-comedogenic!

With no oils, fragrances, fillers, chemicals or synthetic ingredients, breakouts are few. The light mineral powders also let skin breathe naturally and don’t settle into pores.

Natural sunscreen!

Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide offer natural, broad-spectrum sun protection.

Mix and customize!

If you’ve ever had trouble finding a foundation that matches your skin tone or locating that perfect eyeshadow color, you will love mineral cosmetics! Any of our cosmetics can be mixed to create something new. Take our Blushes for example. Mix several together to customize your own blush shade. Use one as eyeshadow to brighten tired eyes. Dip a clear lip balm into one and create your own lip shade. By mixing minerals, many of our customers have discovered the awakening of a creative side they didn’t even know they had, not to mention a new hobby!

THE INGREDIENTS

Serecite is completely colorless mica mineral that reflects light thereby reducing the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Serecite also adds to the water resistance and fade-proof qualities
of mineral makeup.

Titanium Dioxide is a natural mineral with anti-inflammatory properties that helps reduce skin irritation and redness. It is highly reflective and minimizes fine lines and skin discolorations. Provides natural SPF against UVA and UVB rays.

Iron Oxides are natural opaque mineral pigments used to create the beautiful "earthy" tones in natural mineral makeup.

Zinc Oxide is a natural mineral that calms irritated skin and helps with certain skin conditions such as rosacea. Zinc Oxide gives high coverage and adhesion, adds to water resistance and provides natural SPF.

Kaolin Clay is a natural mild clay that provides great coverage, refines pores, absorbs oil and aids in clearing up breakouts. The soothing properties of Kaolin Clay make it ideal for sensitive skin. It is safe for all skin types including dry skin.

What are Mineral Cosmetics?

OK guys...this is taken from my website :

Mineral makeup is simply the most simple, natural product you can put on your skin. "Mineral makeup" takes its inspiration from minerals and inorganic pigments that exist in nature, which are finely milled and purified, then treated or coated with other pigments to create different colors and effects. Some mineral pigments are matte, some have a slight shimmer, and some are positively sparkling! Endless combinations of these beautifully colored minerals, such as mica, titanium dioxide, zinc and iron oxides, can be created to make every cosmetic from foundation to eyeshadow to shimmer powder for the body!

Ciel Minerals has taken these finely milled, cosmetic-grade mineral pigments and formulated them together to create our own unique color palette. You can use our products just as they come, or mix them together in various combinations, making new color creations that are perfect for you.

Mica, for example, is a transparent mineral which is mined from the earth in thin sheets. It can be opalescent and sparkling or completely matte, ranging in color from grey to blue to green. It is often treated with iron oxides to yield brilliant color effects. Due to the sheer, translucent and skin-hugging effect of the mica mineral, your natural skin tone shines through when you use our blush, facial powders or eye shadows. All of our cosmetics contain mica powder, which reflects light from the face, creating an illusion of a smoother, softer and more radiant skin tone. Fine lines are softened; skin texture appears more even and more lucid.

Because I make MM for myself then I want it to be the best, especially the ingredients. I used only the best ingredients and I don't use any filler (such as Bismuth Oxycholride, talc, etc). I made several batches and asked my friends to try. So far they like it, only 1 comment that I need to clarify: it's not as smooth as the regular make-up. Yes! first, because I don't use something that we don't need. OK, if I want to add smoothness and slip to my MM, there are several choices : Bismuth (again!!)-Big NO NO and I can use micronized ingredients but they are debating about the safety of micronized ingredients (Link) So I sacrifice the slip of my MM and go with natural. Also I can improve the silkiness of the MM by adding silk powder but if I do that I have to add preservative to my MM since it is not mineral and it is animal produce. Do we want preservative?? I don't.

First post

I went to my friend's baby shower yesterday and we were talking about Mineral Foundation that I made. The story begins ....

I used to wear Shiseido foundation (and others, too) in the past, then when I needed to buy the new one, I asked my "lovely skin-friend", what her make-up is and she said it's Bare Escentuals (BE). I know BE from TV ad and for some reasons I have never wanted to buy something from TV ad. Then I wanted to buy one because of her! I blamed her lovely skin! LOL.

I searched for coupon code for BE and never found one! It is pricey!! Because I want my skin as lovely as hers, I bought BE that night.

I was so interested in Minerals Make-up than before and began to search more about it. I found out that Minerals Makeup doesn't contain preservatives nor fragrance and very good for our skin. Yet BE contains Bismuth Oxychloride (link) that cause itchiness and break outs to some of us. So I began to do the intensive research and to make long story short ...I make my own minerals make-up.

I convinced my sisters in Indo to use MM (is free of preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other potential skin irritants) instead of regular make-up. And MM is very good for humid place like Indo (Jakarta) because it is water/sweat resistant! It's perfecto!

to be continued....mau masak!
